Military Deployed to Wall Off Border as Refugees Head North

Donald J. Trump ran on one trademark campaign promise: the construction of a race wall cutting through the American continent. Days after the inauguration, he took steps to enact that promise via Executive Order 13767, a unilateral declaration which carries legal weight.

The Wall Street Journal reports 5,000 troops are being sent south to close off the Mexican border and begin construction of the wall. Roughly 3,500 migrants fleeing violent crime and corruption are currently making their way north by caravan. They will likely be detained in camps. Homeland Security has already begun border wall construction in California, according to NPR.

All this comes after the largest anti-semitic attack in US history and an elaborate bombing plot designed to eliminate the leadership of liberal resistance. Meanwhile, alt-right speaker Milo Yiannopoulos has been invited to speak at NYU on Halloween. Public outrage was immediate, as were closed-door organizational meetings by left-wing labor groups.

Yiannopoulos is most notable for his advocacy of white nationalism and his defense of hate speech. His manifesto, An Establishment Conservative’s Guide to the Alt-Right, “argues that culture is inseparable from race” and “that some degree of separation between peoples is necessary for a culture to be preserved.”

The 2018 elections will be the first nationwide election since US intelligence found evidence of Russian political interference or since Trump has taken office. Russian President Vladimir Putin, once a KGB agent stationed in East Germany, is a close ally of Trump. The Department of Justice has already charged Russian agents with interfering in this year’s election. Deputy A.G. Rosenstein who was protecting Robert Mueller resigned late last month.

If you define coup as “a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government,” then this is a coup d’etat.

Already holding a favorable Supreme Court, it would seem the wall is all but inevitable. That’s what this election is about; whether or not we want to live in a white ethnostate.

And you have to make that decision yourself. No one can tell you the answer.
